Shalom listeners!
It's been such a long time since we've had a show, so Scott and I decided to make this one meaningful and enduring.
Shifra Shomron, author of the acclaimed novel, Grains of Sand: The Fall of Neve Dekalim, and guest on the Tamar Yonah Show, joined us for an insightful evening in which we were fortunate enough to gain a glimpse of what it was like to live in one of the most fertile communities in Israel, and also to have to go through the 2005 withdrawal from Gaza, which happened to be her home. She spoke about her book, what people are doing to rebuild the community and what she believes to be the future of the Jewish people and the state of Israel. Listen to the show in our archived section right here on the blog, or click here. This is one you can't miss!
If you would like to learn more about her book, click here: http://www.geocities.com/nevedekalim/
Thanks, and we hope to hear from the listeners about what they thought! Just email us at emesradiolive@yahoo.com. And we'll be back, G-d willing, for another show in the very near future.
A big thanks also goes out to Eddy from the San Fernando Valley for hosting our show and making a unique page solely for it, and providing Shifra with important questions that every listener should ask himself.

The interview with Shifra was very impressive. She ought to be made the national spokesperson for Israel. Her knowledge, experience, and her articulate way of speaking even after what she suffered are admirable.
Shifra did a beautiful job in her interview. I remember the news about Israel's great miracle of capturing these lands in 1967 and still grieve about the insult of the government in telling Hashem that His gift is not wanted. On one of my trips to Gaza at the Palm Beach Hotel I wasn't sleeping because of jet lag. I went out and sat on the swing and so enjoyed the breeze and the waves washing up on the shore while the Israeli patrol boats went by. The quality of the people in the communities was so tremendous. Hopefully the communities will be rebuilt and though they will not be the same, it will show that good will triumph over evil. Gerar is in Gaza and that is part of the land promised to the nation of Israel. Virginia Zakes
